Typical piston pumps are variable and high-pressure types mainly used for construction equipment, etc, engaged in heavy-duty work. They are widely used in areas that require horsepower control, load-sensing, and other control functions

The radial piston pump type R, RG and RZ has a closed pump housing. Therefore, besides use as a motor pump outside an oil tank, installation in the container of a hydraulic power pack is also possible. The radial piston pump is available with several pressure outlets which enable the same or several different volumetric ows. Type RZ is a classic dual-stage pump consisting of a radial piston pump and a gear pump. The radial piston pump type RG has plain bearings which have a longer storage life. This type is therefore used in extreme operating conditions.

1.High Power Density A lighter and more compact machine with higher pressure rating and increased power density (output power/mass) was obtained by adopting a half log type swash plate. In particular, the double pump with its tandem arrangement, has eliminated a power divider, has an increased transmission efficiency, and is lighter.
2.High Efficiency and Large Self-Priming Capability The spherical valve plate and improved hydraulic balance provide stable cylinder rotation, thus achieving high efficiency even in a low-pressure and low-speed operating range.
3.Long Life A long life is obtained by adopting main bearings of large capacity and the piston-return mechanism that compensates for the wear of the shoe.
4.Low Noise Even less noise has been achieved because of the optimum design of the valve plate and the casing rigidity.
5.Wide Range of Controls The pump can be controlled in various kinds of control methods and is capable of responding to either mechanical, hydraulic or electrical input.

The Sauer PV axial piston variable displacement pumps, Series 20, are of swash plate construction with variable flow capability suitable for hydrostatic transmissions with closed circuit. The flow rate is proportional to the pumps driven speed displacement, which, in turn, is determined by the swash plate angle. The latter is infinitely adjustable between zero and maximum displacement. Flow direction is reserved by titling the swash plate to the opposite side of the neutral or zero displacement position. These units and parts are fit, form and function replacements for Sauer-Sundstrand series 20 components.
